There is an exponential increase on the demand for projectors in organisations, schools and businesses. Almost every school, businesses and institution have at least one or more projectors and it will be important to guide you on how to use it in other to save cost in replacing the lamp and other important parts that can be affected as a result of poor handling.

This is the first thing to put in place before using your projector:

  1. Ensure your power is regulated.Use USP and power surge protectors to avoid power fluctuation from damaging your projector panel or other important parts.
  1. Change your filter regularly at least every six month if it is used in school.Projector emit lots of heat while working therefore It is essential that the lamp have enough air to cool it off which is the function of the fans inside the projector compartment. When the fans are doing their work they accumulate lots of dust into the projector causing blockage on the flow of air. This will reduce the life span of your lamp therefore in order to avoid this; the filter(s) must be cleaned regularly.
  1. Allow for good air flow. The fan exhaust area of the projector should be at least 3-5 feet from any wall or other impediment to free air flow. If air does not flow freely around the projector, it will overheat, which will shorten the life of your lamp.
  1. Avoid high temperature. If you store your projector in an extremely cold area (below 45 degrees or so), the bulb may burst when you turn it on
  1. Allow lamp to cool before switching off power or unplugging from the power. The projector fan should continue to run for a period of time after your turn the lamp off in order to cool the lamp. If the power is turned off before the end of the process, the life of the lamp will be shortened.
  1. How to preserve your Video Graphics Array (VGA) cable: Do not force your VGA cable into the pc without properly placement this can damage it immediately.

Please share this with your IT department in your schools and organisations. To some projectors the costs of parts replacement can equally the actual cost of the projector. Therefore take all the precautionary measures to protect it.

Audio visual equipment as the name implies simply means the use of audio and visual equipment to achieve specific goals such as enhancing vision and hearing during meetings, conferences, lectures, training and presentations. Imagine having five thousand audiences in your training or presentation without public address system, let’s assume that you have to stand on a stage for about five feet height; would you be able to catch the attention of the audience seating at the back-end of the auditorium? Not at all without the use of digital equipment such as TV, screens and projectors which would increase the level of visibility and public address system and enhance the speaker’s voice.

Few years back, it was pretty difficult and hectic for managers to travel thousands of kilometers just to attend business meetings, conferences, and symposium. But today’s invention has made it possible to have your presence felt and your voice heard in every business meetings and conference as long as your organisation is technology savvy (Video conference system).

Benefit of audio visual equipment to organisations:

  • Saves time and cost

The use of audio visual equipment such as video conference system reduces the time it will take each staff of an organisation to travel from one point to the other for business meeting. Cost of transportation and accommodation are eliminated as a result of this technology. Imagine an organisation with branches all over the country, where it becomes necessary that every branch receives special training from the head office, video conference system eliminates the barriers of boundaries and create a warmth and interactive meeting ambiance with all the employees connected to each other and exchange of ideas made easy with real time communication and feedback.

Most times, not being audible in a meeting can adversely affect the objective of the meeting. When communication is hampered with, it affects a person’s ability to understand and take in instructions. In order to avoid that, it becomes necessary that an audio system is installed in the meeting room, lecture halls and classrooms to enhance the presenter’s voice or the instructor. For conference meeting where delegates are to be seated to make their speeches, it is paramount that they have conference systems micro phones installed in each delegate’s seat with master control unit to control and manage the delegates’ positions.

  • Improve communication flow

This technology can improve communication flow especially in interactive meetings or training where the audience have to communicate back to the instructor either by asking questions or making contributions pertinent to the topic under discussion.

  • Record Keeping

Most of the public address systems today have recording facility which makes it possible to take minute of every meeting via voice recording. I believe every manager knows the important of keeping record of every meeting. In my opinion, keeping records of every meeting is as important as keeping records of every transaction of your organisation.

  • Increase the level of understanding

Audio visual equipment has the capacity to increase the level of understanding especially among the students and staff. When teaching a child, it is expedient you control the two learning sensitive organs of the body such as eye (sight) and ear (hearing). Even in big organisations, most of their presentations are done on PowerPoint and projected on a big screen for clearer vision and understanding.

  • Enhances staff efficiency

It’s not a surprise to know that many fresh graduates or even some staff of organisation currently looking for high profile jobs may not have had an opportunity to make power point presentation (ppp) using digital board such as touch screen and interactive whiteboard.

Having this equipment will help to improve the staff efficiency at work place, through the learning of how to use power point, excel and chart. Reports are then prepared using these formats and presented to the management at a glance using projectors and digital screen which makes it more professional than using mere marker pen and flip chat board.

Gone are the days when teachers or instructors will just walk into the classroom or meeting room and start dictating for the student or trainees to write. Back then, teachers almost dictate every subject because they find it hectic and stressful writing on the board each time.

With the aid of audio visual equipment, you can now prepare your lesson notes at home, save in a storage device and make your presentations either in ms word, excel, power point or in chart format to the students on the interactive whiteboard by exporting it onto the board. One good thing about this is that you can still edit the work on the board, emphasize on salient points using any colour of soft pen, save and still have the original work intact.

Technology has made it possible to share information with delegates immediately the meeting is over. You can share information in voice or writing format which enables the delegates in a meeting go home with the proceedings. You can also share information via webcast as it is happening etc.

Thank you for the time spent in reading this article… feel free to make your contribution(s).

One approach is to employ a question in the subject line. The idea behind the question is that people have a tendency to not overlook a question, while a statement may not make much of an impression.

Because the question will result in more people at least stopping to consider the email, the chances that the promotion will be opened and read increases. This at least gets the promotional email past the first obstacle, which is being junked by a consumer without being read.

Another approach is to build on the relationship that you already have with the consumer. Assuming that the email campaign is directed at persons who have done business with you in the past, you may want to include an identifying mark in the subject line, such as the name of your company, or the name of the product that was previously purchased.
